From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 1 Apr 2003 LANCASTER -- J.P. "Pete" Ratcliffe, 92, of Ashland died Saturday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Born Jan. 1, 1911, in Winchester, Ind., he was the son of the late Ed and Minnie Abrams Ratcliffe. He was a retired Armco Steel supervisor. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, having served as exalted ruler, past state president, past district deputy and chairman of the Elks Scout Troop 101 for 37 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member and elder emeritus of Community Presbyterian Church in Bellefonte. Survivors include his wife, Martha Ratcliffe; two daughters, Barbara Rusko of Ocean Pines, Md., and Dixie D. Hester of Fort Mitchell; two sisters, Justine Deters and Jean Robinson, both of Ashland; and six grandchildren. Services were today at Steen Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Dwight McCormick. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lancaster Cemetery. Memorials may go to Bellefonte Community Presbyterian Church, 605 Bellefonte Princess Drive, Ashland 21114.
