The undersigned being called upon by Andrew Mershon Senr in his last days at 
his place of residence in the County of Garrard in the State of Kentucky to 
take notice of his will in relation to a legacy of certain negroes devised to 
his two children Clementine D. P. Mershon and Benjamin Mershon do state that 
the said Andrew Mershon some few days previous to his death in the month of 
Nov last called upon them to take notice he devised his afs daughter 
Clementine after his death to have as her portion of his slaves a certain lott 
of negroes (___) Pate and three of her children ____-Hanna Margaret & Tom and 
his son Benjamin to have Jincy Jim and Jenny as his part of the slaves which 
sd declaration and desire afsd was made in the last _____ of sd Andrew Mershon 
as witness our hands and seals this 15th December 1822.

Mershon decd was proven in court at this December county court 1822 and 
ordered to be recorded and the same is truly admitted to record.
