    Marriage Bond of Abner Bassett and Susannah Harbard


     Know  all  men by these present that we Abner Bassett and John Bassett
hold and firmly bound unto James Garrard Esq. Governor of Kentucky this sum
of  fifty  pounds  current money this payment will and truly to be made. We
bind  ourselves our heirs and jointly and for ever, firmly by these present
sealed  and  dated  this  4th day of March 1800. The condition of the above
obligation  is such that whereas there is a marriage intended between Abner
Bassett  and  Susannah Harbard. For which a license has been issued. Now if
there  be  no  lawful  cause  to obstruct. S/O marriage, where in the above
obligation to be ____ ____ to remain in full force.
