                            Will of William Mays
                                      
   Copy of Will of William Mays recorded in Will Book L, page 442, in the
   Jassamine County Clerk's Office. William's son Dr. Nelson Mays lived
   most of his life in Garrard Co.
   
   I, William Mays, being of sound mind and disposing memory for which I
   thank God and calling to mind the certainty of death and uncertainty
   of life do make and ordain this my last will and testament. First,
   after my death, I desire that all my just debts be paid. Second, I
   give to my wife, Elizabeth Mays, all my chattle property to use and
   dispose of as she may think proper. Third, I give to my wife,
   Elizabeth Mays, the farm that I now reside on containing two hundred
   and thirty acres during her life and after my wife's death, I desire
   that the land be sold and the proceeds be equally divided among my
   children. Fourth, I desire that after my death that the land that I
   bought of Andrew Ferrel and Andrew Easley be sold and the proceeds be
   equally divided among all my children. Fifth, I appoint my son Nelson
   Mays, my executor of this my last will and testament this May 4, 1870
