Surname: McGlasson Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. LEONARD McGLASSON was born in Kenton County November 21, 1827. His parents were Virginians by descent. In 1831 they moved to Grant County and he resided with them until he was nearly of mature years, when his parents died. Shortly after their demise Mr. McGlasson moved to Ohio, but returned to Kentucky, settling in what is now Boone County, where he lived until March 10, 1888, when he again returned to his first love--old Grant County. He was a farmer and a carpenter, and when he had business in Williamstown, very seldom used a conveyance, but "footed it" the round trip. The walking seemed to benefit rather than injure him, notwithstanding his advanced years. He served one term as Magistrate in Grant County, was a true blue Democrat, and at the time of his death was the oldest living Odd Fellow in the county. A good citizen in every respect. Mr. McGlasson died August 2, 1898 at his home near Mason, Ky.
