ISOM SANDERS was born in Kenton County, near Independence, October 7, 1854. He received a 

good common school education in the schools of Kenton County. He early learned the trade of 

a paper-hanger, and at the age of 18 began to work at his trade for a living. He has continued 

to follow the calling with profit ever since. He is a member of the Odd Fellows, of the 

Encampment, a member of the Rose Rebekah Lodge and of the K.Ps. He is an ardent worker in each 

secret order to which he belongs, attends all their meetings and is always found at his post of 

duty when called for. In politics Mr. Sanders is a Democrat, and has stood faithfully by his 

party precepts for more than a quarter of a century, never having voted any other than the 

Democratic ticket at any time. He was married early in life to Miss Jennie Jackson. Two children 

were born to this union. Charlie, a young man of 21, still survives. His first wife departed 

this life many years ago, and he was remarried in 1891 to Miss Mary Henson, of near this place. 

Three children have blessed this union, all of whom are living. They are bright, handsome 

children and give great promise for the future.
