BIO: VALLANDINGHAM, FRED, Grant Co. submitted by: WRFC71A@prodigy.com (MRS BEULAH A FRANKS) Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. FRED VALLANDINGHAM, deputy postmaster at Williamstown, is one of the youngest post-office officials in Kentucky. He is a son of C. Vallandingham and Mary Susan (Ratcliff) Vallandingham and was born in Grant County on the 14th day of January, 1877. He is a product of the Williamstown Graded Free School, having graduated at that institution a few years ago. He is a Republican in politics and a prominent member of the local lodge of the Knights of Pythias. When McKinley was elected president four years ago Fred was made deputy postmaster under J. A. McPherson. He has given great satisfaction in the position he occupies and will no doubt be reappointed with McPherson to serve an additional four years. Pleasant, agreeable and courteous, he is the ideal postmaster and has endeared himself to the patrons of the Williamstown post-office.
