INDIANAPOLIS -- Chelsie "Arthur" Jeffries, 86, Indianapolis, died Tuesday

in Indianapolis.

Born in Greensburg, Ky., he was the son of George W. and Eliza Jeffries. He

married Ruth M. Burton and she survives.

He worked at the Citizens Gas Company laying gas lines for 25 years

retiring in 1978.

Surviving with the wife are two daughters: Connie L. Presley and Linda K.

Pigman; four stepdaughters: Shirley A. Wright, Nancy E. Areng, Gerry Thomas

and Gwen K. Rider; one sister, Gladys Paxton; 12 grandchildren and 18

great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Tabernacle, Indianapolis and

11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Lebanon Church, French Lick. Burial will be in

Mount Lebanon Cemetery, French Lick.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Jordan-Gray Funeral Home,

Indianapolis, and from 1-2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Tabernacle, Indianapolis.
