WILL: MARCUM, John - 1869 Contributed by HEGrider@comcast.net April, 2002 Will Book 4, page 10-11, Green Co., Ky - 3 Aug., 1869 My wife, Mary, gets the west end of my farm on which I now live, bounded on the upper corner of the cliff spring bottom on Green River--northward to the SE corner of my peach orchard--northward to a pear tree at the east end of my yard in the old lane--about 100 yards below the old tobacco house, including the same to a cross fence which runs to the river, including the dwelling house where I now live, and the kitchen and household furniture, stock, and farm tools. The balance of my estate is to be divided among my children: Barnett Marcum, Fanny Dearen, Ruth V.Webb, William Marcum, Berry B. Marcum, Thomas B. Marcum, John R. Marcum, George W. Marcum, James H. Marcum, Daniel F. Marcum, Lucy J. Bland, and Andrew B. Marcum, except $10 which I give to my daughter, Lourainy Montgomery. To make my children equal, except the said Lourainy, I charge the following sums up to those that have received the same which I have given to and paid out for their benefit. My son, George W. has lived on my Wade farm till the rents amount to $200 which I charge him with. I charge my son, John R. with $400, money paid for him in defending him in his lawsuits, and for raising his 2 sons. I charge my son, Barnett Marcum with $25, money paid out for him. I charge Fanny Dearen with $50, money paid out for her in winding up the estate of John E. Lasley, her first husband. My 3 sons, Thomas B., Daniel F., and Andrew B. Marcum, get $50 each, and Andrew B. gets a cow and calf, which is not to be charged to him in the division I give the last mentioned sum and cow and calf to Thomas B., D.F., and Andrew to make them equal with my other children.
