Pam Baughman < missusb@aol.com > Looking for parents, siblings, just about anything on Joseph D. CROW. According to Civil War records, he was born Feb 1828, Jefferson County, md Mary Jane Whittinghill March 3, 1847, and probably lived in Ohio, Hancock, Breckinridge, Daviess area -- but who were his parents and his siblings? Also, whatever happened to Nancy VOYLES BARNETT? As of 1860 census, she was living in Ohio County with her second husband William BARNETT, and several small children: Sue, Jesse, and Louisa. Sometime after 1860, William died and she remarried, but who? Then, family tradition says, this third husband killed her in plain sight of her children and threatened them if they told. The kids ran and told, but by the time the posse got to the house, the "old man" (as great-aunt Bertha Rusher said) was gone. Louisa (my ggrandmother) lived with Aunt Marthy BLACK in the neighborhood, and the other kids lived not far away. So, 1)Whom did Nancy marry? What really happened to her? 2)Where is she buried? 3)What happened to William? 4)Where is he buried? 5)What happened to Sue and Jesse BARNETT, probably born 1854-1858?
