Marriage Certificate-Hancock Co., Kentucky
Certificate No.:     Book 1-B

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we John Curry & Eli Dunn are held & 
firmly bound unto THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, in the just & full sum of One 
Hundred Dollars, for which payment, well & truly to be made and done, we bind 
ourselves, our heirs &c. jointly & severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed 
with our seals, & dated this 24th day of December 1854.
THE CONDITION of the above obligation is such, that if there should be no 
legal couse to obstruct a marriage, shortly to be solomnized, between the 
above bound John Curry & Mrs. Martha Daugherty then the above obligations to 
be void, else to be & remain in full force & virtue in law.

Kentucky Hancock County Sct.
To any Minister of the Gospel or any officer duly authorized to celebrate the 
rites of Matrimony. You are hereby bound and authorized to join together in 
the Honorable State of Matrimony Mr. John Curry and Mistress Martha Daugherty 
both of full age.
   Witness James E. Stone Clerk of the County Court of said County this 24th 
day of December 1854.

together in the Honorable State of Matrimony Mr. John Curry and Mistress

Additional Comments:
Martha Daugherty was the daughter of John & Mary "Polly" Dunn. She was Eli 
Dunn's sister.  Her first husband was Jesse Daugherty.  The witnesses were:
John Dunn, her father; Eli Dunn, her brother, and John Bell, the eldest son of 
her sister, Nancy Dunn Bell & husband, William Bell.
