This indenture made 21st day of April one thousand eight hundred and four between ELISHA FREEMAN and his wife of the County of Hardin and state of Kentucky of the one part and JESSE COWBEY of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said ELISHA FREEMAN for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds current money of the state aforesaid to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given, granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien and confirm unto the above named JESSE COWBEY a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Hardin on Nolin creek containing four hundred acres and bounded as followeth. TO WIT: Beginning at the large poplar standing on the bank of Nole Linn Creek running thence North eighty degrees East two hundred and eighty five poles to a stake and some white oak bushes thence South ten degrees, East to a hundred and fourteen poles to Jack Oaks near the top of a ridge, thence South eighty degrees West two hundred and eighty five poles to two white oaks and black oak on the bank of Nole Linn thence up the several meanders thereof to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said JESSE COWBEY and his heirs against the claims of all and every person or persons what so ever. IN WITNESS: Whereof the said ELISHA FREEMAN and his wife have here unto set their hand and affixed their seal on the day and year above written. Signed, Sealed and Delivered ELISHA FREEMAN I hereby certify that on the 21st day of May the within named ELISHA FREEMAN personally appeared before me and acknowledged this indenture of bargain and sale to be his act and deed and upon the request of JESSE CARBEY the granted herein the said indenture was admitted to record in the office of the County Clerk for the county aforesaid this 30th day of May, 1804.
