Deed Bk A, pp 227, 228 PAUL; ANDERSON; HODGES; ASHBY; This Indenture made this twenty second day of ____ in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six Between John PAUL and Salley his wife of Hardin County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Benjamin ANDERSON of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said John PAUL and Salley his wife for and in consideration of one hundred and fifty pounds Current Money to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted Bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant Bargain and sell unto the said Benjamin ANDERSON a Certain trac or parcel of Land containing three hundred acres lying and being in Shelby County on Bullskin creek at the mouth of fox run in the south east corner of said John PAULS one Thousand acre Preemption by survey bearing date the seventeenth day of January one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five and bounded as followeth (Towit) Beginning at two sugartrees on the west side of the cree k by an old ___ and corner to Peter PAUL and Jacob MYRES running thence north two hundred and fifty poles on the line of the original survey thence East one hundred and ninety two poles thence south two hundred and fifty poles to the line of the original thence west one hundred and ninety two poles to the Beginning To have and to hold the aforesaid three hundred acres of Land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Benjamin ANDERSON and his Heirs forever and the said John PAUL and Salley his wife for themselves and their Heirs do further Covenant and agree to and with the said Benjamin ANDERSON and his Heirs that they the said John PAUL and Salley his wife the aforesaid three hundred acres of land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging from themselves and their Heirs and from the Claims of all and Every person or persons whatsoever ________ will warrant and forever defend In witness whereof the said John PAUL and Salley his wife have here unto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
