3. GEORGE McLEAN (1776-1836) m. 1807 Mary Doyle (1790-1835). (See McCLAIN
EXCHANGE #2-1, Page 137.)

4. JOHN McLEAN m. 1775 ELIZABETH ______.
JOHN McLEAN (1730-96) served as a private in the 12th Virginia regiment
under Capt. William VANCE and Col. James WOOD. He was born in Scotland;
died in Virginia. also No. 140896.

(JOHN's sons JOHN, GEORGE and LEONARD were in Madison County, Kentucky
c1805-1807 - as JOHN SR. probably also was. c1808, his sons moved to Hardin
County, Kentucky and bought Dixon's Cave and and the now-famous Mammoth
Cave. JOHN JR. and LEONARD died shortly thereafter and, c1830, son GEORGE
moved to White County, Illinois. By 1850, he was in Jo Daviess County,
Illinois and from there moved on to Putnam County, Missouri - adjacent
to Wayne County, Iowa.)
