GREEN, admin. of the Estate of James McGEORGE, dec'd, James & Elijah GREEN & William BINGHAM are appointed to appraise the same or any 3 to perform the duty. John C. CRUMP appointed Attorney for the County this forthcoming year. Samuel LUSK allowed $130.50 for his services as County Attorney, heretofore allowed, but not collected by him which is to be paid by the Sheriff in preference to any claims for services allowed this present term. His claim for the year 1823 (8?) in not included in this. The following Claims for the Court are allowed for the year 1831, but collectable for the year 1832: Ordered the Clerk be allowed $40. for his services for the year ending Oct. 1,1828 and allowed at the Oct. term of 1828. TO: Buford NOE for guarding [prisoners] TO: Edmond NOE for guarding, same circumstances, but it is understood if the claims aforesaid have been collected by Jas LOVE or any other person for them, out of the public treasury, the Sheriff shall not be bound to pay the same - this order embraces the claims of both Edmond & Buford NOE. Ordered that Elizabeth HOSKINS be appointed to keep and care for Eliza NORTH a pauper age 70 and blind and that she be allowed the sum of $25. On the motion of James BROCK Jr., he is appointed a constable in the room of Washington WHITEHEAD, resigned; $2,000. bond with Larkin HOWARD and Shadrack HELTON, securities, Oath administered. On the motion of John N. HOWARD, the Court makes a deed to Thomas SEWALL for lot #14 in the town of Mt. Pleasant. Larkin HOWARD appointed overseer of the road, in room of Zach TAYLOR. Stephen RICE presented claim against the Commonwealth for 13 days, $13. Viewers reported on the road; "We did on the 26th of Oct. meet at the ford of the river, where said road is to begin and run 1 1/2 miles, from the north side at a beech tree branded with ZG, thence near the tract leading thru James GREEN's land, thence crossing the river above P. GREEN's house and over the hill to Levy HOSKINS. We all think it will be the nearest & best way for the citizens" ..signed J. GREEN, John McGEORGE, Robt. GREEN. James GREEN and Levy HOSKINS summoned to show cause why said road should not be cut thru their land. Elias ARNETT appointed overseer in room of James NAPIER, removed. Commissioners appointed to let out building of Strait Creek bridge, Elisha GREEN, Reuben HENDERIXSON, Sam'l HOGAN, James B. DORTON and Andrew BAKER, cost not to exceed $300. or to the lowest bidder. Martin SAYLOR exempted from working on the roads during inability. William MARK exempted for same. John JULIAN appointed overseer in room of John HARRIS. Lewis FARMER appointed overseer in room of William FARMER. Ordered that Reason WILDER have the following hands, to wit; to begin at Issac SHARPE's from Cumberland Gap, on both sides of said road, not to include the state road to Joseph BAKER's. Esqr. PERCIUFULl's hands to work from said Baker's to the mouth of Cubbages Branch, to a white Oak marked SW. Reason WILDER appointed overseer and David GREEN's hands to work from said white oak to Levi HOSKINS, and Wm. HOWARD's hands to work from the county road, under overseer John McGEORGE. DEC. CT. On the motion of the County attorney, POLLY JONES summoned to appear on the first day of next term to show cause, if any she can, why Hiram JONES, infant of Gabriel JONES, deceased, shall not be bound out to a trade.
