COMMERCIAL MINES On January 1, 1900, there were, in operation in the State, one hundred and twenty-three commercial coal mines, under the management of ninety companies, being a decrease of five mines and of five companies, as compared to the previous year. The following list shows the names of the operators, and of the counties where the several mines are located, the character of opening, and postoffice of each mine. In cases where the operators maintain a separate office, where the business of the company is transacted, such fact is noted, in connection with the comments made about the said mine and company, under the general head of "Notes on the Mines." ____________________________________________________________ No. of Open Names of Operators.
