Huffman and family, of Berry, are going to Crittenden. Mrs. Mary Huffman and son Harry, of Covington, have been visiting here for a few weeks. Pg. 3 Col. 4 Shawhan Born to the wife of Leslie Fryman, on the 25th of June a 6 pound girl. Mrs. Fryman was formerly Miss Mahoney. Pg. 4 Col. 3 FOUND DEAD Ross Kendall, a well known farmer of Colemansville vicinity, was found dead in a field, where he had been working, a short distance from his home, Tuesday evening. He had been out at work on the place most of the day and not returning at the usual time a search was begun. Milton Martin had discovered the body and brought the news of Mr. Kendall's death. Squire L. W. Swann held an inquest. There were several bruises on the body, probably made when he fell. Some thought that he had been struck by ligntning. The Coroner's jury verdict was that death was due to cerebral hemorrhage. Deceased was about 50 years of age and leaves three children, the oldest son being 13 years old and the youngest being a little daughter, aged less than 1 year. The funeral services and burial at Pythian Grove occurred Wednesday. Pg. 4 Col. 4 BIRTHS Born, June 26, to the wife of Mr. Howard Florence, a daughter. Born on the 22nd, to the wife of Mrs. Clark Toadvine, nee Hunt, a son, T. Robin. Born near North Middletown, to the wife of James O. Evans, a son, James O. Evans Jr. The mother was formerly Miss Mary Best Tarr. Pg. 4 Col. 5 Sunrise Sunrise can boast of the youngest music teacher in the county. Miss Verna Price, a little girl of fourteen years old, teaching vocal and instrumental music. She has a class of 9 pupils and they seem to be progressing nicely. Pg. 5 Col. 3 DEATHS Mrs. Chris Ott died at the family residence in Ludlow Wednesday. He will be buried in the Catholic Cem. here. Miss Tillie Ott, a daughter of the deceased is critically ill. Mr. Alfred Beckett, aged 72 years, of Claysville, died in Cincinnati hospital Sunday evening. He is survived by his wife, nee Kramer and a son, Mr. Geo. Beckett. Burial in Kentontown. Mrs. Alfred S. Carter died in Lexington last Friday as a results of Bright's disease. The remains were brought to Cynthiana and the funeral services were held at teh Martin Resicnce on North Main Street by the pastor of the Methodist Church. He was bornin Jessamine county 15 July 1844, his parents being Edward and Eliza Stanhope Carter, members of prominent families of Old Virginia. While yet in his teens, he enlisted in the 2nd Regiment of the famous Orphan Brigade, serving until the close of the war. He married Miss Lizzie Martin, daughter of the late Hon. I. T. Martin, on May 29th, 1878. Member of the Methodist Church. Mrs. James Richerson, aged 67 years, died at her home near Breckenridge, Thursday June 25. Member of Methodist Church. Miss Jennie Cummins, of Claysville, visited her mother, Mrs. Amanda Whitaker, Sunday. Pg. 8 Col. 4 Havilandsville Howard Humphrey and Miss Mae Pollard, of Falmouth, spent Saturday and Sunday wih Miss Nellie Pollard. Berry Died, very suddenly, Mr. Ross Kendall at his home, Monday 29th.
