Anderson, wife of Andrew Anderson, died at their home between Kentontown and Claysville, Saturday, 24 Sep 1910. Burial in Kentontown Cem. Daughter of Joseph and Mary Addams. Her parents were born and married in Boston, Mass. Annie Addams was born 23 Dec 1834 near Milford in Bracken Co. He married Andrew Anderson on 19 Nov 1861. She was 75 years, 9 months and one day old at the time of her death. Their only child, Addie, married Wm. Duncan and died a few years ago. Annie’s grandchildren are: Orie Jones and Noah H. Duncan. He was a brother of Auctioneer Ben Peak of Georgetown who formerly lived here. In Chicago, IL, Sunday, Mr. John H. Drake, died. He is survived by his wife, Miss Bessie Guion, of Cynthiana. Mr. Wm. T. Price, age 62, died at his home near Sunrise on Tuesday of last week. He is survived by wife and several grown children. Burial took place in Richland. Mrs. Catherine Fleming, aged 77, widow of the late John M. Fleming, died at Oxford, Monday night. Burial in Georgetown. She is survived by six children: Messrs Theodore and Miliagan Fleming and Mrs. Thos. Milner, of Georgetown; Mrs. Ben Oldham and Mrs. Ben Oldham, Mrs. Wright Kimbrough, and Mrs. John Barkley of this county. Also survived by three step children: J. S. Fleming of Georgetown, Mrs. Elizabeth Tucker of Owen Co. and Mrs. Williamson of Lexington. Campbell was killed in a pipe foundry at Addyston, OH. Thomas Dalzell, aged 40, dropped dead at Carlisle, Thursday as he pushed back from the supper table. While in the clothing business in Georgetown many years ago he and his partner drew $30,000 in the Louisiana Lottery. He lost his money in real estate deals, and then lost his mind. Frank A. Lyons Jr. formerly of Georgetown died at Beattyville, aged 30. Mrs. Ellen Hayes, 77, died at a Lexington Hospital. Born to wife of Porter Grover, a daughter. Born to wife of Dr. W. N. Three children survive: Reuben Anderson, Frank Anderson and Mrs. Willie Harp of Georgetown. His wife having died several years ago. Burial in Georgetown Cem. F. Johnson by Rev. C. W. Elsey. The bride is a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John W. Six and is quite a pretty and charming young woman. Mr. Mason is a native of Owen county and is an excellent young man. Cynthiana Democrat 29 Sep 1910 Thursday Vol. 63 No. 1 6 Pages Pg. 6 Col. 2 News notes The first fatal accident that has occurred inside of Mammoth Cave in years, happened Friday, when Mrs. Helen Day, of Wyoming, PA, fell from a precipice, striking upon the granite known locally as “Purgatory,” and fractured her skull. She died later. B. W. Yates, a wealthy Detroit business man, shot and seriously wounded Mrs. Fred Singer, in a roadhouse near Cleveland and later hanged himself in the Cleveland jail. The cause of the tragedy is a mystery. John E. Gilman, of Boston, was elected commander-in-chief of the G. A. R. at the encampment at Atlantic City. Rochester, NY was named as the next place of meeting, subject to certain conditions. A. R. Carothers, aged seventy-one, one of the most prominent men in Nelson county, died of cancer. John L. O’Brien died at Owensboro of a knife wound accidentally inflicted by a brother, who tossed a corn knife at him. Charles D. Hiller, an employee of the Rock Island railroad, of Chicago was shot and killed by a Negro burglar while Mr. Hiller defended his home from the intruder. While services were in progress at Donelson Church, near Nashville, lightening struck the building, killing Howard Sullivan, the 19-year-old son of Dr. W. B. Sullivan. Several other people were stunned. In London the coroner’s jury returned a verdict of wilful murder against Dr. Hawley H. Crippen, the American dentist, in connection with the finding in the Crippen-Hilldrop-Cresent residence last July of mutilated body supposed to be that of Crippen’s wife, who was known on the stage as Belle Elmore.
