J. J. Cummins is on the sick list. Pg. 5 Col. 3 DEATHS Miss Lizzie Tapp, aged 27, died October 5th, at the home of her mother, Mrs. Sallie Webb. She was buried at Republican. Simon Riley died at his home near Headquarters Thursday last, aged about 82 years. He was father of Thos. and Jno. W. Riley, who attended the funeral last week. -- Carlisle Advocate. Miss Mamie Padgett, aged 35, died at the residence of her mother, Mrs. Mary Padgett, in Ruddles Mills, Bourbon County on Thursday. She is survived by her mother, three brothers, Thomas Padgett, Terrill Padgett and Ernest Paddgett. Interred in Ruddles Mills cem. Hiram Harper Peck, one of Cincinnati's wifely known business men, died Sunday at his home 3611 Reading Road, Cincinnati. He was born in Potsdam, NY adn was educated in Hamilton College. He married Miss Mary K. Peck of Cynthiana, KY sister of Judge H. D. Peck, and was in business in Cynthiana and later in Covington and Cincinnati. Mr. Peck was a member of the Queen City and Business Men's Clubs, and of the Societies of the Sons of the Revolution and the Colonial Wars. He was buried in Battle Grove. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. Thomas G. Jefferson died at his home in Lexington Monday. Pg. 7 Col. 4 Sadieville The mortal remains of James Powers were brought from Georgetown and interred in Kinman cemetery by Order of Red Men, of which lodge the deceased was a faithful and honored member. Hinton Wm. Wood died at his home Saturday. He leaves a wife, one child, one sister and two brothers. His sister is Mrs. Jacob Mulberry, of near Sadieville, and brothers, Jerome Wood, of Kansas, and Mr. S. O. Wood, of near here. Pg. 8 Col. 5 Shawhan The death angel visited the home of Mr. & Mrs. Tom Padgett and took from them their daughter, Mamie who departd this life Oct. 15. The funeral and burial took place at the Christian Church Saturday morning. Died on the 17th, Mrs. Wale Durossit, of near Shawhan. Burial took place in Sharpsburg.
