Stump Jr. LOG CABIN Fri. 5 Mar 1909 Vol. 14 No. 10 Pg. 5 Col. 3 DEATHS MRS. MATTIE WARDLAW NOTT Formerly Miss Mattie Wardlaw Finley of Cynthiana, died 25 Feb. 1909 at Parkersburg, WV. She was daughter of James S. Finley, a prominent attorney of Cynthiana. Born in Cynthiana 14 May 1851 age 57 years. Survived by husband, Prof. F. C. Nott and these children: Mrs. John Williamson, Denver, CO; Mrs. Ernest Balinger, San Antonio, TX; Miss Erma Nott and Finley W. Nott, Parkersburg, WV. Also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mollie E. Amende, Washington, DC. E. J. "LUCKY" BALDWIN Died Los Angeles at age 80. Famous turfman. He leaves an estate said to be worth $20,000,000. MRS. ANNA LEE HIGGINS Wife of John Higgins, died Thursday at Shawhan. Age 40 and daughter of John Current. By her first husband she leaves two cildren, John and Sam Ewalt. Funeral at Shawhan Church on Saturday. I. W. WRIGHT Prominent farmer who lived near the Harrison and Pendleton Co. line, died in Milton where he was visiting his son, Rev. James Wright. He wa 86 years old last May. Funeral at Mt. Vernon and burial in Mt. Vernon Cem. Surviving children are: Rev. James Wright, Milton; George and Herman of Pendleton Co.; Zach, Indiana; Rufus, OK; Mrs. R. A. Whiteker, Harrison Co.; Mrs. Charles Miles, Pendleton Co. Mr. Wright's first wife was Miss Jacob and his second wife was Miss Martha Newell. Both died before him. MRS. T. B. SMITH Died 27 Feb. 1909. Was Miss Binnie Rutherford, daughter of Dr. Hendson Rutherford, born in Fayette Co. 20 Oct. 1840, aged 69. She was half sister of Dr. J. W. Rutherford, Sharpsburg; Albert S. Rutherford, Cynthiana; John H. Rutherford, Lexington; Mrs. Mary Whierritt and Miss Mattie Drutherford, Chicago. Her only sister died in infancy. In 1872 she married Dr. T. B. Smith who survives with two children: Percy R. Smith, Cynthiana; Mrs. Phelps Sasseen, Atlanta, GA. Buried in Battle Grove Cem.
