Cynthiana Democrat 10 Nov 1910 Thursday Vol. 63 No. 7 6 Pages Pg. 2 Col. 1 Deaths George Doniphan, able attorney of Augusta, died at his home in that city, Thursday, from neuralgia of the heart. He was 50 years old. He is survived by his mother, the widow of the late Judge Joseph Doniphan, a wife, a daughter and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Felix. Last week the body and monument of the late Jefferson Oxley was removed from the Hemphill lot in Maple Grove Cem. to Cynthiana cem. – Nicholasville Journal Mrs. Wm. Cole, aged 65 years, died at her home of her husband west of Connersville, Tuesday, 8 Nov 1910. Survived by husband and three children. Born and reared in Nicholas Co. J. L. Micheltreee, aged 58 years, of Ruddles Mills, died Saturday at the home of his brother at Barterville, where he was visiting. Burial at Barterville. Mrs. Annie Simms, aged 65, died at the home of her son near Connersville, Wednesday last week. Burial took place at Morningglory. She is survived by five grown sons. Mrs. John Butler, daughter of Mrs. Nannie Hall of Ruddell’s Mills, died Saturday in Lexington Hospital. Cynthiana Democrat 10 Nov 1910 Thursday Vol. 63 No. 7 6 Pages Pg. 5 Col. 4 KIMBROUGH–BALLINGER Invitations had been issued for the marriage of Miss Bessie Kimbrough, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jos. Kimbrough, of near Poindexter, and Mr. John P. Ballinger, of Bethel, Bath Co. at Union Baptist Church, yesterday afternoon at three o’clock, but for about a week Mr. Ballinger has been quite sick and unable to leave his bed. It was his desire and request that the wedding should not be postponed and accordingly the bride and her father went to Bethel Tuesday, and the marriage took place at the bedside, yesterday. The bride is a splendid young woman of beautiful character and happy disposition, and is a favorite with a wide circle of friends. The groom who is cashier of the bank at Bethel, was formerly of Lair, this county, and is known as an able and successful young business man, justly popular and highly esteemed. Mrs. Grover, her sister was also fatally burned. Hugh J. Grant, 55 years of gae, twice Mayor of New York City and twice defeated for the same office, died Thursday. He was born of Irish parents in that city and rose in Tammany Hall to the rank of Alderman. At Rock Springs, TX, Antonio Rodriguez, a Mexican, who confessed he murdered Mrs. Lem. Henderson, was burned at the stake by a mob. At Danville, KY, J. N. Havelben, aged 65 years, was instantly killed when the buggy in which he was driving was overturned by a delivery wagon driven by two boys. Joe Wallace, a merchant of Lawranceville, GA, shot and killed his wife, and a 13 years old son, painfully wounded his 16 year old son, drove his two daughters away from home and committed suicide. The motive for the tragedy is not known. Senator J. J. Watkins, leader of the temperance people in the last legislature, died at his home at Sturgis, KY from heart trouble. Dr. H. H. Crippen, the American dentist who was convicted in London, England, on a charge of murdering his wife, Belle Elmore, an American actress, was refused a re-hearing and will be executed on 28 Nov.
