W. J. Price, wife and daughter, Anna Veach, spent Sunday with their uncle, John Whalen and family. Iva Price was the guest of her Uncle A. B. Whalen Sunday. LOG CABIN Fri. 27 Aug 1909 Vol. 14 No. 35 Pg. 3 Col. 4 SUNRISE John Beckett funeral on 17 Aug. 1909 at M. E. Church at Sunrise. He married first to Miss Nancy J. Humphrey and they had 10 children, nine of whom survive. His wife, Nancy J. Beckett died four years ago. He later married Mrs. Mary T. Price who survives. LOG CABIN Fri. 27 Aug 1909 Vol. 14 No. 35 Pg. 4 Col. 4 DEATHS MISS MOLLIE WEBB Age 50, died at the home of her brother, Bud Webb, near Ruddles Mills Monday of consumption. Burial in Indian Creek Cemetery. MAJOR ARCHIBALD VanDEREN THE TUSCOLA (IL) REVIEW 19 Aug. 1909. Born in Cynthiana, KY 77 years ago. When the Civil War broke out he organized a company here. He went out as Captain but was promoted to Major when he was compelled to retire on account of ill health in 1864. All through the war he was a gallant soldier and won the name of being a brave man. After leaving the army Major VanDeren went in to business in Tuscola. Survived by wife and one child, Mrs. Kittie Leggitt. Two other children died while young. Burial in Tuscola Cemetery. by G.A.R. Post. Brother of John and Alfred VanDeren. REV. FATHER JOHN JOSEPH O'NEIL Assistant pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lexington, died in Lexington Sunday. JOSHUA McKINLEY Died yesterday in Cynthiana. Buried in family grave yard near Robinson. His sister was Mrs. Clifford. [No other survivors named. dh] J. M. HODSON Age 82, died at Oddville Wednesday of old age. Survived by wife and one son, J. P. Hodson. Buried at Battle Grove Cemetery.
