Lail, died on Tuesday of paralysis. Son of Charles and Louisa Ingles Lail, born near Colemansville on 23 Oct 1838. Enlisted in Confederate Army 22 April 1861, joining Co. C. First KY Infantry. He served in it for 12 months and was wounded in the first fight at Drainsville, Loudoun Co. VA. He recovered sufficiently to re-enlist in Oct. 1862, this time joining Co. B Second Battalion, Mounted Infantry, commanded by Col. Tom Johnson of Mt. Sterling. He entered as a private and was soon elected lieutenant and served in that capacity to the close of the war. He was in Camp Chase when the war ended having been captured 1 Feb. 1865 while at home on a furlough. He married 15 Jun 1871 to Miss Florence Day, daughter of N. C. Day of Harrison Co. His wife survives with eight children: Mrs. T. J. Perrin, of Boyd; Mrs. J. W. Glinn, Wade H. Lail, Mrs. J. M. Dills, Miss Ina Lail, Chalres E., Rodney F. and Miss Georgia B. Lail of Cynthiana. Four brothers survive: F. M. Lail, of San Jose, CA; Jos. Lail of Florence, KY; Alvin H. and E. R. Lail of Boyd. Three brothers are dead. Burial in Battle Grove by Confederate veterans. Burial in Jacksonville. Survived by son, Hilman Fightmaster of Newport News, VA and two daughters, Mrs. John C. Hayes and Mrs. Albert Lizer. Earl Faulkner, 21, son of Mr. & Mrs. J. B. Faulkner, died in Flemingsburg. J. W. Fox, father of John Fox, Jr. the novelist, died at Big Stone Gap, VA, Friday. He taught school at Stony Point, Bourbon Co., and in Paris for a number of years. Richard and Leslie Williams went to Rushville, IN, Monday to be at the funeral of Mr. & Mrs. Zoll Williams only child, a daughter seven years old, who on returning home from Sunday School was accidently killed by a freight train. Cynthiana Democrat 4 Jul 1912 Thursday Vol. 64 No. 41 Pg. 2 Col. 4 Selma Wm. Eads, formerly of this vicinity, died at his home near Sadieville, 28 June. He was some 63 years old. John Fox, Sr. who died in Big Stone Gap, VA, was buried in Paris. Mose Love, well known Negro barber of Paris, dropped dead while fishing. Robertson Co. The Knights Templar of Cynthiana Commandery No. 16 will hold services at the grave of Sir Knight S. L. McDowell, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery on the second Sunday in July. Died: Mrs. Mary Garrison, 76. Nicholas Co. Died at the home of his father, in Nicholas Co., Wednesday 26 Jun, of TB, Sherman Blount age 22. Died Mrs. J. K. Bowen age 60. Scott Co. Church B. Glass died age 74. Mrs. Sarah B. McGuire, died in Georgetown on Thursday. Age 90. Carter D. Moore, died Friday, age 74. Mrs. Frank G. Moore, died in St. Louis, Tuesday. Buried in Georgetown. Pendleton Co. Mrs. Ruth King, mother of Mack King, age 82 died at Hamersville, OH 12 Jun. Born in Bracken Co. Miss Anna Ravenscraft died Tuesday in Falmouth age 72. Lloyd McGill born in 1839 died at Demossville on 20 Jun 1912. Grant Co. Died, near Dry Ridge, on 14 Jun Mrs. R. C. Conrad.
