Chinn of Cynthiana was wounded in a skirmish near Kirksville, MO just 50 years ago today. He was a member of Col. Porter’s command under the Confederate General Price and was with the Col. on a raid gathering recruits in northern Missouri when the skirmish took place, 1 Aug 1862. . . . John Roberts, 64, died in Harrison Co. on Monday. Buried in Benson. Survived by wife and two children (not named). W. P. Forsythe, died near Leeslick Saturday of heart trouble. Age 65. Survived by wife and three sons: Alonzo, Fred and Roy Forsythe. George Booher, age 70, died at the home of his son, John Booher, near Boyd on Thursday. Burial in Pythian Grove. Sister of James Mallory of Georgetown. Nicholas Co. Died: near Headquarters, Mrs. Jas. Collins age 58; nar Lower Blue Licks, Jas. Sutherland, age 93; At Nepton, Mrs. Lucinda Palmer; at Paris, Mrs. George Payne, age 60, she was born near Parks Ferry. Harve Thomas, colored, age 42 died after falling off a wagon on Friday. Bourbon Co. Died: Susanna Payne, 68; Jno. Owlsey, 10 months, son of Ed. Owsley of Ruddell’s Mills. Grant Co. Died: Mrs. Mollie Glass, 49; Jas. G. Shelfy, 30. Pendleton Co.
