Aunt Polly Renaker, nee Hedger, in her 86th year died at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. Rodney Martin, in Grant County on Monday January 9. Her daughters, Mrs. Sally Martin, Mrs. Morgan Martin and Mrs. Mary Juett of this county attended the funeral and burial at Jonesville Cemetery. The lumber team was under the direction of Alvin Hicks and work was done on Mrs. Anna Swift's place. Both men were drunk when the shooting occurred. Two of the bodies were Gene Marshall and Wade Patterson. The third was Jim West. Cynthiana Democrat 19 Jan 1911 Thursday Vol. XLIII No. 17 Pg 5 Col. 1 Pages 6 Gruesome find At Georgetown, while Dutch Davis was fishing in a well Sunday afternoon for a bucket he had dropped his hook struck something soft, and pulling it up, he found the decomposed body of a man. It proved to be that of Thos. Ross, a farmer of below Oxford, who had not been seen since Christmas night. It is supposed that while wandering about he fell into the well, as it was but loosely covered with old planks, one of which was broken. Ross was unmarried. The wedding will be in the spring. Miss Lockhart is the daughter of Mrs. E. F. Clay of Paris and is representative of one of Kentucky's most prominent families. She is now in Eustis, FL with Col. & Mrs. Clay spending the winter. Mr. Davis is one of the states most prominent families. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. J. W. Davis, of Paris and a grandson of Mrs. William Withers, Sr. of this city. Barlow-Slade In Cincinnati last week, Miss Blanch Barlow of this city and Mr. Henry Slade, formerly of this city were married. They are first cousins. The groom is the son of Thos. Slade.
