Rawlins, died Thursday at Harrison Hospital of enlargement of the liver. Born 7 Jul 1853, son of E. and Helen Casey Rawlins. Survived by wife, formerly Miss Mary Thompson, six sons and two daughters: Charles of Texas; James, Thomas, Will, Zeke, and Clay of Harrison Co.; Miss Iva and Lillie Rawlins. Also survived by four brother and three sisters: Lee and Miller of Harrison Co.; Newt of IL; Ham of Texas; Mrs. Annie Cummins of Covington; Mrs. Ada Myers of Dayton, OH; Mrs. Sallie Miller of Lexington. Cynthiana Democrat Thurs 3 Aug 1911 Vol. 43 No. 45 Pg. 1 Col. 4 Burned to Death: At Nicholasville, Mrs. Calvin Blackeman, 48, fell down the cellar stairs with a lighted lamp and was burned to death. Born: To Mr. & Mrs. Forrest Ransdell, a son. Married; The engagement of Miss Alice Monroe of Falmouth and Dr. Simeon Grant Walton of Newport is announced. The wedding will take place in the fall. Mrs. Lucinda Worrell died. See Claysville items for notice of her death. Cynthiana Democrat Thurs 3 Aug 1911 Vol. 43 No. 45 Pg. 2 Col. 1 Leeslick Mrs. Ethel Cox, wife of Jesse Cox, buried at Jacksonville Cem. on 30 Jul 1911. She left four sisters, 2 brothers, father, husband and two children. (Not Named) Cynthiana Democrat Thurs 3 Aug 1911 Vol. 43 No. 45 Pg. 2 Col. 1 Sunrise We are in sympathy with Mrs. Stella Lenox, who lost her mother, Mrs. Worrell. On last Friday afternoon Col. W. M. Moore, of Cynthiana, came down to B. F. Whitaker's and they together on Saturday went to McKenneysburg to attend the Confederate reunion. The Col. made them a speech in which he reviewed the incidents of the war. The Col. said there was room behind one tree for two. Pulliam, principal of the Academy of Georgetown College since 1898, resigned to remove to Tuscaloosa, AL. Married: Robert Cain and Miss Mattie Wingate. Bourbon Co. J. Frank Bedford, age 46 died Married: Webster Harp and Miss Daisy Belle Farris. Robertson Co. Charles Howard, formerly of Robertson Co. died in Fleming Co. Nicholas Co. Married: Russell Lawrence and Miss Gertrude Mers; Rufus Vaughn and Miss Hannah Evans; Luther Gaunce and Miss Josephine Richie. Miss Jane Porter, age 70 died Cynthiana Democrat Thurs 3 Aug 1911 Vol. 43 No. 45 Pg. 3 Col. 1 Claysville (Ella Minor Hitch, correspondent) Mrs. Lucinda Stevens Worrell, born 7 Jan 1848 died 29 Jul 1911, age 63 years, 6 months and 12 days. She had been in poor health for a long time, seriously so during the last few weeks. She had been spending some time with her children and was at the home of her son Ollie, when she died. She leaves a husband, J. G. Worrell, two sons and one daughter; Frank and Ollie Worrell and Mrs. Orie Lenox.; one sister, Mrs. Susan Duncan; one brother, Bascom Stephens; one nephew, Willard Duncan and several grand-children. Her remains were taken to Sunrise Christian Church where the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Sam Foley, of Falmouth, and she was laid to rest in the Sunrise Cem. Her husband, also in poor health, has for some time been staying at Berry receiving medical attention. He was able to attend the funeral. Our sympathy to the family we have known for more than a quarter of a century. Burnis Hildred Toadvine, one of the twin daughters of A. C. & Emma Cain Toadvine, near Claysville, died 26 July of Cholera infantum, age 10 months, 21 days. Burial was in Battle Grove on the 28th where the grandfather, William Cain was buried a few years ago. Cynthiana Democrat Thurs 3 Aug 1911 Vol. 43 No. 45 Pg. 3 Col. 2 Kelat Card of Thanks - While our hearts are overwhelmed with grief and sorrow, we are not unmindful of the sympathy and many acts of kindness shown us by our neighbors and friends during the illness and at the death of our beloved mother, Mrs. Granville Worrell. Especially we thank Drs. Lang and Henry for their interest and kindness. We also thak Mr. Frisble, Cynthiana's undertaker, for his painstaking care. Eld. Sam Foley and the pall bearers, Jo Beckett Sr., Willis Criswell, Jno. L. Criswell, W. A. Arnold, Dr. Lang and Dr. Henry, all merit and receive our sincerest thanks.
