Hardy and son, Thomas, attended the funeral of their relative, Samuel Flora, of Covington, and witnessed the cremation of the body over in Cincinnati. The remains of Will Pettie arrived Friday and were taken to the home of his parents where they remained until Sunday. The funeral was held at Beard’s Church and burial followed in the Church Cemetery. Duke Coleman, ex-Federal soldier, is suffering from a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Kells moved to his former home near Williamstown. The little child of Mr. & Mrs. C. Wadsworth, aged 16 months, died at Covington last Tuesday. The body was brought to Boyd Wednesday morning and short funeral services were held at the Methodist Church. The interment took place in Pythian Grove. Jasper Stafford burned the last note against the Connersville Christian Church and made the glad announcement that the church was free from all indebtedness that every financial obligation had been canceled. After three years successful work among our people, we deeply regret of the loss of Bro. Stafford. He has done much for the welfare of all. In the far west where he had journeyed in search of health, Will Petty died Friday afternoon, 21 January, in his 26th year. He had eager hope that the life-giving air of the southwest would win back his health and bravely stood the long journey to Silver City, New Mexico. For awhile it was thought he was growing better but after a 3 weeks stay a change for the worse came. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church, conducted by Bro. Stafford, Sunday morning at tne o’clock. Burial took place at Beards. Cynthiana Democrat 3 Feb 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 19 4 Pages Pg. 2 Col. 2 Steven Padgett, between thirteen and fourteen years of age, was burned to death in a fire which partially destroyed the house in which his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Padgett lived on Pleasant Street in Belmont, Monday afternoon, shortly before five o’clock. The unfortunate boy lost his life by the explosion of a can of coal oil while he was trying to start a fire in the kitchen stove. The funeral took place at Frisbie & Smith’s undertaking parlors yesterday at two o’clock. Services were conducted by Rev. W. A. Penn. Bural at Battle Grove. This accident marks the third who has been burned to death in Cynthiana this present winter. The others were a colored child whose parents lived near the Cresent Mills and Mandy Lee, the aged colored woman who lived in the old cabin on the corner of Pike and Locust street. Linehan died at his residence on Main Street in this city Sunday at about noon, after two days illness from cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Linehan was stricken while at his livery stable on Pleasant street, Friday afternoon. The funeral was held at St. Edward’s Church yesterday morning at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev. George C. Bealer. Burial was in St. Edward’s Cem. Mr. Linehan was forty-nine years old last August. He was born and reared in this county and was a man of genial, kindly personality, who was a friend to everyone and was consequently universally popular. He married a number of years ago to Miss Maggie Halpin, who survives him with two sons, John and Halpin. Two brothers survive, Jas. and Dan. Born To Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Florence, a daughter, Mildred Harding. Mrs. Florence was formerly Miss Nannie Harding. To Mr. & Mrs. John F. David, a fine son. Fifth born, first boy.
