Log Cabin 16 Nov 1901 Saturday Vol. 6 No. 46 Pg. 3 Col. 4 Corrections to Dr. McDowell's Sketch In chronicling the death of Dr. McDowell last week an error crept into our sketch which in the haste incident to publication night was not notice in reading the proof. Mrs. Samuel Steele of Frankfort, is Dr. McDowell's sister instead of daughter, as we stated last week. Of a family of eleven children, Dr. McDowell was the ninth to die, the other survivors being: Mrs. Steele of Frankfort; Mr. Edward McDowell, formerly of Havana, Cuba, now of New York. Dr. McDowell's only deceased children were Marion who died last year and Anna Mary who died in 1894. His wife and five sons survive him (not named). (Many resolutions were printed for Dr. McDowell. A tribute by Col. R. M. Kelley, Union was also printed about his friend the Confederate. dh) File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ky/harrison/newspapers/gnw61excerpts.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/kyfiles/
