A. J. Whalen, wife and son were guests of R. M. Huffman adn family Sunday. The ring of the anvil and the merry whistle of our new blacksmith from early morn until late in the evening, tells us he quite busy. Here is success to him. Kelat Death has again entered the home of Mr. Ace Rose, and laid its cold hand upon the wife and mother, Mrs. Anna Rose. The many friends of Ben Humphrey were pained to hear of his death which occurred at Garnett Station last week. Pg. 3 Col. 1 Claysville Mr. & Mrs. Loyd Struve spent Saturday and Sunday with her father, Tom Claypole. Sadieville Born to the wife of Silas Jones, nee Miss Lizzie Boyers, a son. Sunrise Mr. Robert Carr celebrated his 63rd birthday on April the 9th with a dinner. He is getting along in years but says he feels as young as a sixteener, never been kissed. The table fairly groaned under its burden of good things to eat. Among those being present were Mr. & Mrs. T. J. Langley, Mr. & Mrs. Chas. Arnold, Mr. & Mrs. B. S. Price, Mr. & Mrs. George Price, Mrs. Cynthia Price and Hiram Carr. Pg. 3 Col. 2 Pleasant Green Born, on the 1st, to the wife of C. C. Ingram of Connersville, IN a son. Born to the wife of Ed Terry on the 8th a daughter. Mrs. Ingram and Mrs. Terry are sisters and were formerly the Misses Venard of this place. Pg. 3. Col. 3 Shady Nook Miss Nannie J. Burns died April the sixth. She leaves two sisters and one brother, Miss Lou Burns, Mrs. Emma Doan and Johnie Burns, and many friends to mourn her loss. She was the oldest child. Connersville Born to the wife of Silas jones, of Sadieville, nee Miss Lizzie Boyers, a son. At John T. Cummins sale Saturday sheep sold at $14.25 per head. Everything sold high. Born to the wife of Ed Terry, nee Miss Tiny Vinyard, a daughter. Pg. 5 Col. 1 DEATHS Elder D. N. VanBuskirk, for 50 years minister in the Christian Church, and wll known in Kentucky, died recently in Greensburg, IN. Wm. Martin Sr. a veneralbe citizen of Belmont, dropped dead last Friday. His death occured at the home of his son, Wm. Martin, the horseman. The infant child of Carl Traylor, of Shawhan, died Tuesday, aged 4 days. BIRTHS Born to Mr. & Mrs. Edward Terry, a daughter, Anna Louise. Born April 15, to the wife of G. T. Wagoner, a 10 pound boy. Pg. 6 Col. 1 Leeslick Born to the wife of Charlie Haley, a daughter. Berry A dispatch from Kansas told of the death of two sons of Dallas Boyers, of near Boyd.
