Sunrise J. T. Rohr has a splendid Bible class composed of ladies and gentlemen. Mr. A. C. Hall and Mrs. Lillian W. Race, of Havilandsville, were married Sunday. Each is well known in this community and highly esteemed by all and the wishes of their many friends are that they may have a happy journey through life together. Pg. 1 Col 5 Hinton Born to the wife of Luther Sydnor, a son. Pg. 5 Col. 1 Kelat Mrs. Ann Rose Died at her home near Kelat with consumption, April 7, 1908. The infant child of Mr. & Mrs. George Lemons died at their home Sunday night. Pg. 5 Col. 3 Buena Vista David Ross, who moved from this vicinity about two years ago, died at his home at Mt. Olivet Friday and was brought to Republican for burial Saturday. Pg. 7 Col. 2 DEATHS The people of this community were pained to hear of the untimely death of Mrs. Joe E. Richer, who passed away at Harrison Hospital on Thursday night, April 16, after several weeks of severe illness. Her death was due to tuberculosis of the kidneys which a surgical operation failed to relieve. Mrs. Richer was formerly Miss Cora Holton and was born in Pendleton Co. Feb. 14, 1872. She was a daughter of Mrs. G. M. Ellis, of this city by her first marriage. She joined the Baptist church at Catawba in her youth and brought her letter to the Cynthiana Baptist church after her marriage to Mr. J. E. Richer, in 1891. She is survived by her husband, one son, Holton and a sweet little daughter, Mary Margaret, less than three years of age, also her mother, Mrs. G. M. Ellis, one sister, Miss Lavenia Holton, a half brother, Mr. Jesse J. Ellis and a half sister, Miss Daisy Ellis all of this city. She was buried in Battle Grove Cem. David Ross, a venerable Mexican veteran, formerly of this county, died at his home at Mt. Olivet last Friday, April 17, at the age of 85 years. He was one of a small band of Mexican veterans of this vicinity, who held a reunion here last summer, since which four of the old veterans has answered the bugle call - taps. His grandfather was a native of Ireland and was one of the early settlers of Harrison Co. In 1851, David Ross, married Ducena Paxton, and in 1887 he married his second wife, Miss Mary Streets, who survives. He also leaves three sons, Wm., Grant and Victor Ross. He was buried at Republican where he was a member. Our Berry correspondent notes the funeral of Arthur and Frank Boyers of Berry. These brothers were killed by an explosion in a tile factory in Danville, IL. The remains of Major A. J. Morey, who died here Nov. 24, 1907 were taken from the vault at Battle Grove Cemetery yesterday and removed to the Lexington Cem. Pg. 7 Col. 4 MARRIAGES Mr. A. C. Hall, aged 31, and Mrs. Lillie W. Race, aged 21, were married in Falmouth Sunday. Pg. 11 Col. 1 Berry L. J. Boyers, of Cynthiana, attended the funeral of his cousins, Frank and Arthur Boyers. The remains of Arthur and Frank Boyers, who were accidently killed in Illinois, were brought back here for burial. Their funerals were preached at the Baptist church by Rev. Burgess and they were laid to rest in the same grave. They were the sons of Dallas and Mary Boyers. Barefoot Born, on the 13th to the wife of Mr. Haden Jones, an eleven pound boy, Clarence. There has been a monument erected at the grave of Mrs. John Miller. Died, on the 15th, near Paris, Mrs. Wash Burden. Burial on the 16th at Needmore.
