F. Sipe's death is noted in the death column. Pg. 3 Col. 2 Licking Valley Mr. & Mrs. Chas. Burns are entertaining a new baby boy. Born to the wife of Arthur Anderson, a 10 pound boy. Barefoot Born, to the wife of Wi1lie Varner, a ten pound boy. Opossum Trot The remains of W. Price were brought from Lexington to Sunrise and buried Sunday. His funeral is to be preached in the future by W. A. Hostetter at Mt. Olivet. Uncle Ben Whalen brings more eggs to the store than any body else. Don't ask him where he gets them. It won't do to slight Uncle John Rohr. He is the best Sunday School teacher in Sunrise but don't forget that he is an old bachelor. We are glad to see old friend, Robert Bayless, of Ohio, shaking hands with his old friends. Pg. 5 Col. 2 Births Born to the wife of Mr. Jesse Mckee, a son. Born to the wife of Mr. Ed Cox, a daughter. Born, Wednesday, to the wife of Mr. John Allen, a son. Mrs. Allen was formerly Miss Mayme Snodrass (Snodgrass?). Born to the wife of Mr. Lawrence Adams, a daughter. Born, Wednesday, to the wife of Mr. Will Garnett, a daughter. Born, to wife of Mr. Will Metcalf, in Cincinnati, a daughter. Mrs. Metcalf was formerly Miss Catherine Lovell. Born yesterday, to the wife of Mr. Lorie Lowe, a son. Pg. 5 Col. 3 Deaths Mr. J. F. Sipe, a highly respected citizen of the Buena Vista vicinity, died Saturday afternoon at the age of 56 years. He had been suffering for some time of cancer and some months ago had the cancerous growth removed from his head, getting only temporary relief. He is survived by four sons, Henry, Emmett, William and Newton and two daughters, Misses Belle and Lizzie Sipe. He was the brother of Mrs. Z. W. Lee and Mrs. Merabah Wyles, the latter the widow of the late Peter Wyles. Buried in Republican Cem. Died at Covington, January 30, 1908 of consumption, Mrs. Susan Baker Forsythe, wife of J. D. Forsythe. Burial Feb 2, at Highland Cem. under the auspices of Martha Ross Council, Daughters of America, of which organization she had been a member for 11 years. She is survived by her husband, one son, Berthold Forsythe; one daughter, Mrs. Leonard Buzatt, of Covington; one brother, John J. Baker, of Renaker who was at her bedside when she passed away and one sister, Mrs. Martha A. Myers of Georgetown KY. Native of Harrison Co. She was born at Baptist, KY, 3 Sep 1854. Joined the Baptist Church. In 1880 she married J. F. Forsythe of Pendleton Co. At the residence of her son, B. A. Batterton, near Shawhan, Mrs. Mary J. Batterton, aged 85 years died Monday night, of general debility. She is survived by one son, B. A. Batterton and two daughters, Mrs. Jeff Shepard of Cincinnat and Mrs. John McDaniel of Millersburg. Buried in Jacksonville Cem. Wm. Martin formerly of this county died in Indiana. Mrs. Mary C. Sparks, wife of Geo. L. Sparks, died at their home near Jacksonville, Monday. Buried in Jacksonville Cem. Mr. F. G. Sparks, formerly of this county, died this week in Lexington. He leaves a wife, nee VanHook, and six children. He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Capitola VanHook, who went to the funeral. Samuel Sosby, aged 54 years, died of pneumonia Wednesday night, in the Salem vicinity. He is survived by his wife and one son, Sidney. Buried at Salem Cem. Pg. 6 Col. 3 Indiana Letter Greensburg, IN Feb. 8 1908. Wm. T. Martin, a former resident of the north western section of Harrison County, KY died at his home in this city January 26, 1908 aged 74 years, 4 months and 20 days. Mr. Martin married Miss Mary A. Dunn Sept 31, 1856 at Benjamin Robinson's on Raven Creek. They moved to this city in 1862. Three children were born, two of whom survive, the wife dying some years ago. In 1899 he was again married to Miss Elizabeth Bryan who, with the two children, one sister and five brothers, remain. The sister and two brothers live in KY and were not able to be present at interment.
