J. Renaker, died at Selma, Friday. Survived by wife who is 80 years old and seven sons (not named). Burial at Battle Grove. See Selma Items for full details. George H. Shawhan, died in Lone Jack, MO. Born in 1843 in Bournon Co. son of Dan and Minerva Shawhan. At the outbreak of the civil war he enlisted in a company formed by Capt. Harry Bedford, of Bourbon Co. and served under Gen. John H. Morgan until captured during the raid of the famous cavalry leader through OH. Married Mollie Tatman, of Shawhan, who with several children survive (not named). Leslie Shadd, age 6 months, son of Will Shadd, was buried at Battle Grove yesterday. Rev. Thos. Smith, 50, died in Millersburg, Sunday. Born in England. Cynthiana Democrat 25 Jul 1912 Thursday Vol. 64 No. 44 Pg. 1 Col. 3 Mrs. Clay Berry Killed. She was married to Dr. C. C. Berry from KY. She was born in Mississippi, age 36, daughgter of Rev. W. L. Lowrance. She married Dr. Berry 15 years ago in Dallas. She was survived besides parents, her husband and five children: Margaret, Cleveland, Evelyn, Louisa and John, the baby. Youngest son of Joseph and Clarinda Whalen, whose parents came from Virginia during the early settlement of this country. He joined the Southern Methodist Church at Barlow under Rev. Covington Waters during the founding of that church society in 1870. He died 14 Jul 1912. Survived by one brother, John Whalen and one sister, Mrs. Hannah Price both of Harrison Co. Buried at Barlow. Married Elizabeth Hutchison 16 Sep 1852. They had eight children with seven sons surviving: Geo. T., J. Newt, W. W., D. Luther, N. E., J. R., and Lee Renaker. Buried in Battle Grove.
