D. Hall was found guilty in the Pendleton Circuit court last Thursday on the charge of killing Elijah T. Moore on Sept. 25, 1911. The penalty was fixed at a life term in the penitentiary. The evidence was circumstantial. Being unable to secure a jury in Pendleton, 50 venire men were summoned from Harrison and the jury made up of the following: J. E. Herrington, R. B. Megibben, R. T. Berry, J. L. Gray, Russell Falconer, R. D. Worthington, Woodford Warth, Gus Hughes, R. W. Switzer, James Wilson, Wm. Fryman, W. J. Beagle. Mrs. Myrtie Hull, wife of Arthur Hull, died at her home in Bridgeville, Monday of consumption. Pendleton Co. Died: Miss America King. Nicholas Co. Died: H. G. Hopkins, 68. Son of Jas. L. Barnett of Carlisle, age 14 months, fell from the porch and onto a garden rake. Three prongs penetrated his head and he died a few hours later. Jas. Boyd, colored, killed by cars. Scott Co. Sherman, VP of US died at his home in Utica, NY on 30 Oct. Cynthiana Democrat 7 Nov 1912 Thursday Vol. 65 No. 7 Pg. 12 Col. 1 Deaths C. E. Clifford, 65, died at his home near Cynthiana on Saturday of Bright’s disease. Buried in Battle Grove. Michael Woods died at his home a mile south of Cynthiana last Saturday from heart disease. Buried in St. Edward’s . Born in Co. Cork, Ireland, in 1833. Survived by wife, four daughters and five sons: Mrs. John O’Day of Illinois; Mrs Gertrude Scott: Mrs. Wm. King; Miss Clara Woods, of Cynthiana; Dr. Wm. Woods of Colorado, Emmett Woods of Covington; John, Charlie and Jim of Cynthiana. He is also survived by two sisters and a brother who live in Ohio.
