Jensen rkjensen50@hotmail.com October 11, 2010, 10:03 am Source: Harrison, Kentucky Will Book B, Page 292-293 Written: October 5, 1825 Recorded: February 1826 Will of Richard King Harrison, Kentucky Will Book B, page 292-293 In the name of God amen I Richard King of Harrison County state of Kentucky being sick & weak of body but of sound mind and disposing memory make this my last will and Testament in the following manner to wit first I give my soul to God who gave it me and hoping to be received into Everlasting life and touching my worldly affairs wherewith it has pleased god to bless me with I give and dispose of them in the following manner: Item 1st I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sally King the tract of land whereon I now live containing 149 ¾ Acres as deeded to me by James Coleman also the tract of land Containing 50 Acres as deeded to me by James Coleman also I give the following Negro that is to say – Nancy jone vilet Tom and Robert all the Household and kitchen furniture all the farming utensils and all the stock of horses Cattle sheep and hogs except those herein aafter named and all the money remaining on hand at my death during her natural life and at her death to pass as her after directed as it respects the boy Robert above named above named my wife is to dispose of him as she may see proper at her death any gift or Conveyance of the said boy shall be good & valid any thing to the Contrary notwithstanding Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto my son Daniel King all that tract of land as deeded to me by John Harvey containing 544 Acres also one Negro boy named Henry one bed & furniture 2 Cows & Calves one horse Bridle and saddle all which he has received except 244 acres of land which has not been deeded to him by me Item 3 I give and bequeath to my son Richard King 200 Acres of land whereon he now lives as deeded to him by me also one negro boy named Willis one horse Bridle and saddle 2 Cows & Calves one bed and furniture all of which he has received Item 4th I give and bequeath unto Ezekiel Turner and my daughter Elizabeth his wife 157 Acres & 66 poles of land whereon they now live as deeded to me by James Coleman also one negro girl named Mary during my daughter Elizabeths natural life and at her death To be equally divided between the heirs lawfully begotten of her body also one bed and furniture one Cow & Calf which bed Cow and Calf has been received Item 5th As for my son Bartlett King I consider him unsound in body and mind and do appoint my loving wife and my son Paul King as guardian for my son Bartlett King and have the Charge of all the Estate hereafter mentioned for my son Bartlett King that is to say at the death of my wife it is my desire that that the tract of land whereon I now live Containing 149 ¾ acres as deeded to me by James Coleman be for the Benefit of my son Bartlett King Item 6th As to my son Silas King I Consider him unsound in mind and do appoint my wife and my son Paul as guardian for my son Silas and have the charge of the Estate hereafter mentioned that is to say I give unto my son silas King all that tract of land Containing 55 acres as deeded to me by Daniel King also at the death of my wife I give all that tract of land containing 50 acres as deeded to me by James Coleman one Negro Boy named Tom also one bed and furniture Item 7th I give and bequeath unto my son Paul King all that tract of land containing 200 acres as deeded to me by Lucas Sullivan also one negro boy named Alva one mare strap which mare he has in Possession Bridle & Saddle 2 Cows and Calves one bed and furniture my silver watch 20 head of hogs ten head of sheep all of his Choice one horse __ ranter , my Rifle Gun Item 8th I give and bequeath unto Rankin Blackburn and my daughter Rachel his wife one negro girl named Rebecca __ mare saddle & Bridle bed and furniture already received Item 9th I give and bequeath unto William Lemon one bed and furniture one cow & calf which he has received I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Rachel Lemon after the death of my wife one hundred Dollars I give & bequeath unto my grand Daughter Lucinda Lemon one hundred Dollars after the death of my wife I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Lemon one hundred dollars after the death of my wife. I give & bequeath unto my grand Daughter Polly Lemon when I have raised one negro girl named lucy and her increase also one hundred Dollars one horse worth 100 Dollars saddle and Bridle one bed and furnit- ure as it respects the residue of all my Estate real & personal not heretofore mentioned & disposed off that it shall remain with my beloved wife till her death and at her death to be disposed of in the following manner I give and bequeath to Rankin Blackburn and my Daughter Rachel three hundred dollars and the ballance of the Estate not hereto- fore disposed off to be equally divided between all my children I do appoint my beloved wife Sally King and my son Paul King Executrix and executor to this my last will and Testament I wish it distinctly understood that it is my will that my black woman jone shall be free at the death of my wife as witness my hand and seal this twently fifth day of October 1825 Richard King Test Harrison County Larkin Garnett } February Court 1826 Sct Wm Marshall } This last Will & Testament of Richard King decd was proved in open court by the oaths of Larkin Garnett & William Marshall the subscribing Witnesses thereto & was ordered to be recorded. att.
