Born in Hart County, she had worked as a seamstress at Elizabethtown Sportswear for a number of years. She also worked in a number of restaurants in Southern Hardin County and had worked last as a caregiver to a number of elderly people in their homes. She was a member of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church in Cub Run. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Smith, her husband, Doyne E. Bell, one brother, David Smith, two sisters, Joyce Sanders and Barbara Butler. Survivors include her mother, Mae Webb Smith, Upton; two sons, Stanley Bell and Billy Bell, both of Upton; three daughters, Donetta Eastridge, Sonora; Judy Carroll and Karen Baumgardner, both of Upton; three sisters, Mary Logsdon and Betty Snider, both of Clarkson, Beverly Staples, Upton; five brothers, Tom Smith, Roger Smith, Gary Smith, Robert Smith, all of Upton, Paul Smith, Munfordville; 18 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 2, 2001 at Upton Baptist Church with Rev. Charles L. Bell, Rev. Mike Walker and Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial was in Little Flock Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarkson.
