Retired minister, member Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Preached first sermon at Oak Hill Baptist 1938, ordained by same in LaRue Co. 1951 
graduate of Clear Creek Bible School, attended Campbellsville College. Preached at 
the following churches: Pike's Ridge in Taylor Co; Shady Grove in Metcalfe Co; Fry 
Church in Green Co; Walnut Hill in Barren Co; Leitchfield Crossing in Hart Co; Mt. 
Moriah in LaRue Co; Monroe Church in Hatt Co. Interim pastor for Mt. Tabor and Oak 
Hill Churches in LaRue Co and Woodland Church in Marion Co. Served on the State 
Executive Board for the Lynn Assn.
Survivors:
Wife: Grace Vance Brooks of Hardyville
Daughter: June Huffman and husband Vander of Hardyville
Granddaughter: Cathy Holley of Knob Lick
Great-grandchildren: Kyle and Megan Holley
Sisters: Catherine Hornback of Upton, KY and Maragaret Rowe of Mt. Washington
Several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by:
Sister: Mary Lettie Brackett
Brothers: Hobert Brooks, Arvie Lee Brooks and Georg Brooks.
Services: 1 pm Thursday, 26 Oct 2000, Winn Funeral Home, burial Center Cemetery in 
Metcalfe Co.
