News-Herald, 23 January 2001: Dewey B. Childress, 65, Upton, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Matherly, Louisville; Missy Beard, Elizabethtown; six sons, Tim Childress, Michael Childress, Chris Childress and Johnny Childress, all of Hodgenville; Dewey 'D.D.' Childress, Elizabethtown; Jeff Childress, Bloomfield; five sisters, Shirley Crump, Earlyne Childress and Donna Sweet, all of Bonnieville; Lucille Goldsmith, Magnolia; Thelma Sizemore, Louisivlle; three brothers, James Childress, Grand Rivers, KY; Paul Childress and Virgil Stanley Childress, both of Munfordville and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. ET Wednestay at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Reverends Howard Srygler and Steve Campbell officiating. Burial was in Concord Church Cemetery near Bonnieville.
