Son of the late Albert and Mary Gabbard Callahan
Retired ornamental horticulturist, vocation agriculture teacher. Long-time
student advisor and mentor to the Hart Memorial and Hart County Future Farmers
of America. Employed by the Hart County Board of Education for 33 years. Member
Canmer Baptist Church where he served as moderator. Member Rio Verde Masonic
Lodge, The Lions Club, The Fair Board, Retired Teachers' Association,
Conservation Board, Pearl Webb Cemetery Board and the University of Kentucky
Alumni Association. U S Army veteran of WW II.
Survivors:
Wife: Ruth Lyons Callahan
Son: Darryl R of Lexington KY
Grand-daughter: Ashley Hunter Callahan of Lexington
Step-son: David Lyons of Munordville KY
Three brothers: Seaber Callahan of Roy Oak Michigan, Fred Callahan of
Bonnieville and Lester Callahan of Hamilton OH
Preceded also in death by first wife: Georgia Ray Callahan
Services: 11 am Wednesday, 6 Apr 2005, Canmer Baptist Church under direciton of
Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, burial Pearl Webb Cemetery.
