"Mr. George S. Green, as foreshadowed in THE TIMES last week, died at his home in Bearwallow, Friday morning of last week, at 8 o'clock. In his death, Hart county loses one of her most valuable citizens, and the public a man who was pure gold in all the walks of life. Very few men were more widely known, and none more thoroughly respected and esteemed, than George Green. Plain, honest, a gentleman to the core, a friend true as steel sturdy in his own moral fibre as any oak that grows in a forest, his death in the prime of life is a blow to good citizenship, a sorrow to his friends everywhere, and a crushing bereavement to the family circle in which he was a loving father and a devoted husband. "Mtr. Green was in fine circumstances, and leaves a widow and five children in more than comfortable conditions. "The remains were interred in the family burying ground, near his residence, Saturday evening last, in the presence of one of the largest concourses of citizens ever gathered together in that section. "A good man and a good citizen has gone." Additional Comments: NOTE: I have no connection, no further information and am not seeking additional information.
