He Hart County native was a farmer and a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist CHurch. Survivors include his wife, Erin Bagshaw Jewell, Canmer; one daughter, Seaira Renee Jewell, Canmer; his parents William Gary and Debbie Ward Jewell, Canmer; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary Wayne and Hester Jewell, Canmer; one sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Chris Smith, Canmer; one nephew, Jacob Smith, two nieces, Jessica Jaggers and Emiley Jaggers; one former brother-in-law, Steve Jaggers; two grandmothers, Fannie Bastin Logsdon and Margie Polston Jewell; five aunts, Joyce Sturgeon, Sue Jewell, Kathy Trowbridge, Mary Priddy and Becky Jewell; 10 uncles, Calvin Ward, James Jewell, Steven Jewell, Daniel Ward, Bobby Jewell, Henry Jewell, Jimmy Jewell, Ronnie Jewell, Ronnie Sturgeon and James Trowbridge. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. CST, Tuesday, January 9, 2001, in the chapel of Hawkins-Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Phil Sallee and Bro. Ronald Riordan officiating. Burial was in Defries Cemetery.
