Ethel V. Kirkman

Ethel Verna Kirkman, 87, formerly of 623 H St., died at 8:53 p.m. Monday at
Bedford Hospitality House after a lengthy illness.

Born in Bonneville, Ky., (Hart County), she was the daughter of Samuel
Francis and Mary Elizabeth (Waldon) Puckett. She married Earl Kirkman on
Nov. 3, 1930, in Lawrence County, and he died in 1978.

She was a homemaker and of Protestant faith.

Surviving are one daughter, Marilyn Rameto of Brandon, Fla.; one sister,
Nellie Kitzinger of Punta Gorda, Fla.; two grandchildren, six
great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one son, Marvin Kirkman;
five sisters and brothers: Nora Garland, Ruby Boling, Raymond Puckett,
Senolan Puckett and Gladys Puckett, and one grandson.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with
the Rev. Richard Chase officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery,
Avoca.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
