"Hon. P. L. Maxey died at his home in Rowletts of a complication of diseases, Wednesday of last week. Mr. Maxey had been for many years one of the prominent citizens of Hart county, and was a man respected and beloved by all. He was a half-brother of Hon. J. W. Rowlett, with whom he was engaged in the mercantile business under the firm name of Maxey and Rowlett for nearly a generation. Mr. Maxey was seventy-six years of age at the time of his death, and leaves and wife and six children, among whom is Mrs. W. H. Pedigo of this place. "The remains were interred at Woodsonville last Thursday in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives.
