The Forestville (Hart County) native was a retired farmer, a merchant, state employee and city judge and was of the Methodist faith. He was a son of the late Curtis and Martha Philpott McCoy. Survivors include his wife, Hattie "Totsy" McCoy, Munfordville; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles C. and Joyce McCoy, Munfordville; two daughters, Sharon Srygler and her husband Larry, Bonnieville; Rita McCoy Goodman, Munfordville; seven grandchildren, Mary Ann McCoy, Jon Godoman II, Brian Srygler and his wife, Joa Ann, Munsfordville, Cammy Johnson and her husband Jeff Johnson, Summersville,Tn; Macy Srygler and Josh Srygler, Bonnieville, Nan Kueber, Columbus, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, B. J. Srgler, Trent Johnson, Charleston Johnson and Mason Keuber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: Willie, Wash, Edgar and Tommy McCoy, Cappie Logsdon, Mae McCoy, Gertrude Cassel and Bessie Bowman. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. CST, Monday, March 26, 2002 in the chapel of Hawkins-Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Srygler and Rev. Lonnie Sheets officiating. Burial was in Munfordville Cemetery.
