A native of Hart County, she was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Jane Bastin Smith. She was married to the late Bruce Overfelt. Survivors include two sons, Billy Overfelt, Washington court House, Ohio, and Phillip Overfelt, Munfordville; three daughters, Marjorie Bowen, Elizabethtown, Betty Johnson, Edmonton, and Wanda slaughter, Uno; a sister, Carolyn Jaggers, Sonora; 31 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, two great- great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave. Burial was in the Center Cemetery in Metcalf county.
