Glasgow (KY) Weekly Times, 3 June 1896
"Killing in Hart County. W. L. Scott, a white man, was shot and fatally wounded 
by John Young, also white, at home, near Woodsonville, Hart county, last 
Saturday.They had been attending Decoration Day ceremonies at Munfordville and 
Scott had been drinking freely. On his way home he stopped at Young's house and 
raised a disturbance with his family. Young ordered him to leave and Scott 
assaulted him with a knife. Young fired three shots, which took effect in 
Scott's bowels. Young surrendered himself to the officer and his trial is set 
for to-day."
