News-Herald, 3 April 2001: Mabel Cottrell Thompson, 80, of Cub Run, died at 5:33 pm Monday, March 26, 2001, in the emergency room at the Caverna Memorial Hospital. She was born in Cub Run on August 9, 1920 to the late Harold & Effie Jaggers Cottrell. She was the wife of the late Armond Thompson, a member of the CUb Run Baptist Church and Salutatorian of her sinior class at Cub Run High School in 1938. Survivors include three sons, Ralph Armond Thompson of Munfordville, Doug Thompson of Glendale and Kelcey Thompson of Jeffersonville, IN; five daughters - Linda Wilkerson of Bowling Green, Brenda Martin of Jefferson- ville, IN, Martha Smith of Mammoth Cave, Vanessa Thompson of Cub Run and Patricia Cowan of Louisivlle; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 11 brothers & sisters, by one grandchild and by one great=grandchild. Funeral services were 1 pm Thurdsay, March 26, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Cub Run Cemetery.
