News-Herald, Horse Cave, KY, 13 OCt 1998: Velma A. Terry, 82, Munfordville, died at 11 a.m. EDT on Monday, October 5 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. The Kessinger native was a retired cook at Brooklawn Children's Home, Louisville. She was a daughter of the late Curt and Annie Brown Avery and the widow of the late Lester L. terry. Survivors include two step-daughters, Wanda Cotter and Judy Creager, both of Louisville; one step-son, James Terry, Louisville; two nieces, Wanda Snyder, Lousiville and Brenda Killman, Munfordville; one nephew, Roger "Butch" Avery, Munfordville. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 1998 in the chapel of Hawkins-Brooks Funeral Home, with Rev. Uhel Templeman officiating. Burial was in Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.
