WILL: Adam Laurence, 1800, Henderson County, KY SEPTEMBER COUNTY COURT 1800 The last Will and Testament of Adam Laurence deceased was by Charles Davis and Anthony Bennett, Executors thereof, exhibited in Court, Proved by Laurence Roelosson, Junr. and the witnesses therein named as the law directs and thereupon Ordered to be Recorded _____________________. In the name of God Amen, I, Adam Laurence, Senr., of the State of Kentucky and County of Henderson, being sick and weak in Body, but of sound mind and disposing (?) memory, for which I thank God, and calling to mind the uncertainty of Human Life, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to Bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in the manner following; that is to say, 1st my will and desire is that all my just debts due be paid and I give to my wife Susannah Laurence one bay gelding, one hundred and seventy-five dollars and one-third part of my estate, both real and personally, except my lands and such other Legacies as is hereafter particulary described and Disposed of during her natural life and after her decease, I give the same to the whole of my children hereafter named equally to be divided among them and to be enjoyed by them forever. _____, I give to my son John Laurence the whole of my farming tools to him and his heirs forever. 4thly, I give to my son Adam Laurence another part of the tract of land that I now live on and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever. 5thly, I give to my son David Laurence two-thirds of the same tract of land that I now live on, one gray horse, my riding saddle and bridle and the whole of my wearing apparel and my rifle gun to him and his heirs forever. 6thly, I give to my daughter Patience Laurence one hundred twenty five Dollars, two mare Colts and two cowes to her and her heirs forever. 7thly, all the rest of my Estate, both real and personal, of what nature and kind however it might be, not herein before particular described and disposed of, I desire it might be equally divided among the whole of my children, that is to say, John Laurence, William Laurence, George Laurence, Joseph Laurence, Adam Laurence, David Laurence, Ruth Clap, Nancy Strater, Polly Haynes, Susannah Sprinkle and Patience Laurence, which I give to them, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever. 8thly, my will and desire is that my son Adam Laurence shall not dispose of his part of the before mentioned land without the consent of his brothers David Laurence, neither shall David Laurence dispose of his part without the consent of his Brother Adam Laurence and further it is my will and desire that my wife Susannah Laurence should continue on ____ ____ part of the said tract of land _______ as the right remains with the said Adam and David Laurence and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friends Charles Davis and Anthony Bennett Executors of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other former wills or testaments by me herebefore made, In ____ for whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed by seal this 21st day of July 1800.
