DR. CALVIN R. JOHNSON was born in Port Royal, Henry Co., Ky., October 3, 1854.  
His parents, James W. and Mildred (Perry) Johnson, were also natives of Henry 
County, where the former was an eminent physician.  His grandfather was Carton 
T. Johnson, who was born in Scott County, but moved to Henry County at an early 
day.  Our subject was educated at Ghent, Ky., and studied medicine at the Miami 
Medical College, Cincinnati, from which he graduated in 1877.  He immediately 
began practicing in Owen County, where he remained one year and a half.  He then
moved to Henry County, where he has since remained, and is considered one
of the best physicians in the county.  January 6, 1879, Dr. Johnson was
united in marriage with Lucy Boulware, of Henry County, daughter of L. F.
an C. (Owens) Boulware, natives respectively of Shelby and Henry Counties.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the I.O.O.F. and of the Baptist Church.
Politically he is a Democrat.
