(J) MILLER, cert no 31/11078 Died April 30, 1931 in Trimble Co. KY. Son of William M. and Adaline Miller. Born July 24, 1851 Henry Co. KY Obits states: Mr. William M. Miller, aged citizen, died suddenly. The citizens of Bedford and vicinity were sorely shocked last Thursday when they learned that Mr. William M. Miller, one of our oldest and most highly respected citizens was found dead about noon on the farm where he lived, less than two miles south of Bedford. Mr. Miller, who was 79 years of age made his home with his brother, Mr. Amos Miller, and nephew, Mr. B.D. Miller, who own the place across the highway from the John J. Young farm. He was preparing to raise a crop of tobacco, and left home early Thursday morning to weed a plant-bed. When he failed to return to the house at the noon hour, his brother went in search of him and found him near the plant bed. He had pulled the weeds and replaced the canvas. He started home, it is supposed, but made only about one hundred and fifty yards of the distance. When found he was lying with his head on a sack of straw, which he used in weeding the beds. There was no evidence of a struggle, and he is supposed to have taken ill and expired in a short time. It is thought he had been dead two or three hours. Funeral services were at the home Saturday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. J.B. Hahn. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery. Mr. Miller was twice married, but has no children. The only surviving members of the family are two brothers, Mr. Amos Miller, with whom he made his home and Mr. J.E. Miller, of Louisville. He reared a nephew, Henry Miller, of Eudora, Ark, whose wife is seriously ill. Familiarly known as "Uncle Bill," he was a good citizen and well liked. He often came to Bedford, where he visited the home of his nephew, Omer Miller. ============================================================================
